Growing Week

Spring brings color, and light, and green plants. We have planted all sorts of seeds  in our classroom, and painted and collaged with the colors of spring. Our science table is ready for lots of observational time, with jars of beans sprouting, pots of flowers just growing, and celery that drank up lots of colored water. We asked questions and discovered answers all by ourselves!

We started our Shakespeare practice time this week, and practiced listening to directions, being on stage, and telling a story with our actions.

Our science table is lively! We are observing changes in plants and seeds, using tools like magnifying glasses.

We asked questions about the celery and its color changes. I especially liked the question "will the celery turn the color (water) green?"
We constructed a beanstalk with colored spirals and beautiful blossoms to grow in our classroom. The story Kate and the Beanstalk  was a wonderful read. We'll add characters to our beanstalk as we practice the story.

Until Next Time,
Michele
