Structures and Growing Up

We created our structures with glue and wood, and painted and told stories about them. The children talked about helicopters, houses, boats, and pirate ships! We talked about how we know we've grown, and measured ourselves. Our special visitors this week were a pair of chickens who were not quite chicks but not quite chickens. We participated in Earth Day by planting a butterfly flower garden with our buddies. Fun and busy and sunny, just how we like our days to go!

A House is a House for ME!

 We celebrated our "house" week by building all sorts of structures, playing "camping out" with our student teacher, and reading books like This is the House that Jack Built and A House is  House for Me and A House for Hermit Crab.
The children enjoyed real spring time weather outside this week, as well as real signs of spring!We'll continue our house unit next week, as we begin to explore creating our own structures with wood pieces and glue and then writing stories about them.
