Peppermint Playdough Magic

We set out peppermint playdough this week with simple rollers and cookie cutters, and it was magic! The calm focus, generosity (chairs were added to the table) and conversations were wonderful to behold.

There were other sensory choices with art work, including marble painting (clackety clack), sand and glitter, gluing of textures, and painting with shaving cream.

talkin' about buddies.....

One of the benefits of being part of this school community is our time that we spend with our 4/5 buddies. The children quickly learn that they have a good friend amongst the big kids, and look for each other in the halls for a high five or a smile. There are often pictures or cards drawn by buddies to buddies in cubbies, and we spend time writing or painting or reading or playing together. I thought to share images of some of our best buddy activities lately, from painting wooden houses together to visiting in the big buddies classroom, to just hanging out.

Winter is a Comin' In

We started singing about snow and being cold, and the snow finally arrived! The children enjoyed being the "poor robin" who needs to keep herself warm in the barn, out of the North Wind. We worked on our pinata, and had many discussions about WHEN the candy will be put inside. There is a lot of glue, glitter, paint, and snowflakes everywhere!
