Growing Week II

 We participated in Stem Week with all of the school and constructed tops from cd's.

 Growing week is about green! Green playdough, paint, and paper. Hopefully we'll see green outside soon, too!

 We have the "hollow blocks" back in our classroom, and we have lots of opportunities for large muscle work!

 Our beans and flowers came up!!!

Growing Week

This week we planted seeds, and talked about how they might grow. Our books were about growing things, and the cycles that plants go through as they grow. We know what plants need to grow, too.
Now we just need to wait for something to grow!

 The sensory table is filled with sand and jewels, and they can be sorted, searched out, and inspected.

 Our "growing table" is illustrated by the children, with roots and beans laminated to a card by a child.

Writing is always a choice, and sometimes we have theme related coloring pages that we can talk about with our friends. 

 Shakespeare! has a big stage for rehearsal....

And, finally, we've installed our structures in the library for our Parker community to enjoy. Stop by on your way out the door!

A House is a House for ME!

We talked about all sorts of structures and spent time building our own structures to paint and tell stories about. This year the children built things that move-almost exclusively-boats, airplanes, rockets, and even jet packs! We'll be putting together a book about our structures for Project Night. Our classroom was full of all sorts of building opportunities.
