Wind and Weather Weeks

As promised, this post is a combination of two weeks of "Wind and Weather" in the PreK4 classroom. It's March, and "spring" has been advertised but has not yet made up its mind to stay. Our projects in the classroom for these weeks are bright and "wind powered", including cutting out wind spirals, painting with our breath blowing through a straw, and lots of bubble play. We have begun to graph the weather each day, as the wind brings the weather. We constructed kites that are kid powered and  painted clouds and printed with balloons. A favorite book this week has been Spring  by Kevin Henkes-it's a beautiful reminder of what's wonderful about winter and what to look forward to in Spring.

Until Next Time,
Michele
