Our Day Sky Night Sky unit revolves (or orbits!) around the creation of artworks-the images that we see of our galaxy and the planets are inspiring and colorful, and appealing to the children as they work to create their own images.
We had more adventures with loose parts and boxes, flashlights, and outer space books. We chose planets to be when we orbited the sun and many of children chose to be EARTH. We wrote a book about our favorite planets with our buddies and illustrated them.
Until Next Time,

| this table requires a lot of negotiating as it is highly valued and has limited space. This group of boys spends a lot of time working out the creation of structures, the stories that are evolving, and how many pieces each child has. Occasionally we'll hear "We can build a bigger structure together!" but sometimes we hear "HEY he took the piece that I had!" and we have a chance to intervene and learn together about what approach works and what approach is less successful. |
