I was thinking about this week, and WHY the children love to bring in their special loveys from home and share them with the classroom and their friends. We see that the toys become important throughout each child's day, and are built for, driven around the classroom, seated with us at circle times, and reluctantly left to sit when it's time to sit and eat at the table or go outside. We trace the toys and the children tell us their "stories", and read about bears and sing about bears during the week. We admonish the toys to behave themselves, no mischief allowed! when we leave them in the room(my fault, as I imagined aloud with the children what it would be like to come to the room and find that our toys had created mischief). Just thinking.....perhaps it's the bringing of the love from home to the love of the classroom, and wanting to integrate all that love!
Until Next Time,
Michele
