Fire Safety week turned out to be very engaging and creative for us in the PreK4 classroom. We created "smoke" and "fire" paintings, wrote a safety rule book, and sang songs about fire safety. There was a "ladder" on the rug to climb up and rescue bears from, and a coiled hose on the rug made with tape to walk around and around. The children created their own fire trucks with glue and paper and glitter and painted with little fire trucks traveling along the paper. With the right props, the large hollow blocks became fire stations and fire trucks to drive. The weather on Friday was the best surprise of all, warm sun and heavy snow. The snowballs made a great splatter when they were thrown down on the driveway.
Until Next Time,
Michele
