Doctor Week!

Our room was transformed to a Doctor's Office this week, full of trusting patients and trustworthy doctors and nurses. The children explored all of the accoutrements of a doctor's office, stethoscopes, "shots" blood pressure cuffs, and all. They charted their patient's progress and wrote out prescriptions. We also explored our five senses in artwork and games in the room; Sight, Hearing, Vision, Smell, and Taste ! We were fortunate in having three parents with careers in the medical field come and share their knowledge and even some items from the emergency room. We got to talk about ambulances, emergency rooms, why doctors and nurses wear what they wear, and have our blood pressure "taken" right in our classroom. CS came in to help us learn a relaxing breathing technique, and we'll be practicing! He'll come back and visit us to keep up on our progress. I'll let the photos here tell the rest of the story. We had a great week!
Until Next Time,
Michele
