Doctor Week II

We discovered that we could hear our own heartbeat! This week for Doctor Week, we looked at body systems and pictures of the insides of the human body. A favorite book to read is MAGIC SCHOOL BUS INSIDE THE HUMAN BODY. The children get ideas of what red and white blood cells look like, how food travels through the body, and learn that the brain is the "control center" for the body. We wrote a "band aid" book, where the children decorate a page with band-aids and then dictate a story about a need for a band-aid. "I hurt my pointer finger on the lazy susan" was one such tale.
Our big news was an infusion of dress up costumes (a pink flamingo?!) from a generous family, and a special birthday celebration with ice cream to share:o)
Until Next Time,
Michele
