A colorful week of sunshine and rainbows. The children explored the room, especially the dress up corner, and enjoyed working together to create complicated block structures to populate with firefighters and police officers. We colored rainbows, made colorful telescopes, and painted at the easel. The rainbow rice was poured and measured, and used to fill many containers. We sang our rainbow song, and learned the sign language for a few colors. A favorite book was A Rainbow of My Own by Don Freeman. We played in the field with a parachute during P.E., and had a long and beautiful hike on our grounds with many bridges to cross and a buddy to watch over. We celebrated a birthday and mixed all the colors of the rainbow, and watched the rainbows and appear on our rugs when it was sunny as the light filtered through our prisms.
Every once in a while, we have the presence of mind to write down some conversational gems from our favorite 4's....which will be heretofore be called "words we've heard":
"wait, what's my name again?"
