We talked all about ourselves this week! Self portraits, both faces and full body tracings, helped us to remember what color eyes we have and how we are the same and different from each other. We made mirrors and enjoyed our own reflections, as well as finding each other in our mirrors. We baked oatmeal cookies to share with everyone, and have added "serving" to our daily curriculum. The children as snack helpers will take turns offering a plate of snack to their peers.Purple glittery fingerpaint was very popular and made "rainbow" monoprints. "Arco Iris" is the Spanish word for rainbow, and we listened to a rainbow song and reviewed the color words in Spanish as we watched color being drip dropped into a vase of water.
We started writing our "me" books, and shared a color walk outside and described the colors we had seen. A lot of children saw rainbows (!).
words we've heard:
"you want a cookie?"
"I am happy when...I wake up!"
Until Next Time,
Michele
