The blog feels like "a day in the life of the classroom" this time...... as we watched the goings on and recorded them on film. The hollow blocks continue to get a lot of attention, both as a work place and a gathering place for many different types of play! We've made applesauce and written a an informative book about how we made it, pictures included! The children continue to explore group play in the large block corner, and glue and paint and print with all sorts of fall colors. As we've discussed Fire Safety, the children have sung songs about brave firefighters, "Stop, Drop, and Roll" and have explored a smoke detector.
We have begun a worm composting program, and the children were introduced to the worms. We'll be chopping up a few of the vegetable/fruit scraps that we compost and feeding the worms each week, and they will make dirt for us!
Thanks to your generosity, we've made shakers with our egg cartons and we have a "shaker song" that we shared together.
Also thanks to your generous "guest reader" times. The children enjoy the different literature that comes in from your homes, and your help is greatly appreciated!
Until Next Time,
Michele
