We had a very eventful few last days of school before our break! Our classroom looked increasingly wintery as we played with arctic animals, had picnics in the igloo, and explored the lavender scented rice in the sensory bin. There were icebergs in the sensory bin for painting, a birthday to celebrate and more change to add to our change for change jar. The children are given freedom to explore and make their own choices according to their interests, and we as teachers marvel at their continued level of curiosity and confidence. Our classroom continues to strive towards friendship and an atmosphere of cooperation and kindness.

| the pinata is a "group effort" as we all construct, decorate, and fill the pinata, and then marvel at its heft! |

| The Mitten |
We "acted out" The Mitten, a Ukrainian folk tale that is about woodland creatures coming together inside a warm sheltering mitten, and a little mouse making everyone sneeze, and then exploding out of a very stretched mitten. Agi worked to keep the "mitten" covering all of the children, and the children did their best to huddle together underneath, until the time of the sneeze!
