"Winter ?!"

As the seasons change, we like to look at what is happening both in the weather and in our world. We are hoping for snow, even if it isn't quite winter yet; we read and acted out The Mitten,  a story about a young boy and his lost mitten that ends up getting filled up with animals until the ubiquitous mouse (!) makes the bear sneeze and out pop all of the animals!  We sang a mitten song and will be learning other songs about snow and cold. The children painted mitten shapes, glued "snow" buildings, and made their candle jars for us to use at lunch time for quiet conversations by candlelight. We had a treat in store when our student teacher, Jenny, shared her "sound box" with us. And, finally, we had a great morning with our buddies, coloring, building with unit blocks, and playing. Our buddies add another facet of skill to our play, helping us to learn to work well with each other in a group, communicate, and appreciate our different interests.

Until Next Time,
Michele

just one little mouse more.......

and the animals scattered all over the snow!

Each child dictates a message each day, and signs their work.

our buddies color with us,

build with us,

help us learn to work together on a really big project,

and write our letters!

our candle light lunch time....so quiet and calm !
