A House is a House for Me!

This week was about everything having it's place; a toothbrush is a house for toothpaste, a nest is a house for a bird. The children explored "parts" play with ping pong balls and tubes and tape and scissors.

We created structures from wood pieces and glue, and they are painted and waiting for their story to be told.

This spontaneous activity occurred twice this week in the classroom; The children gathered pencils and paper and began taking "surveys." They approach, ask a question; "Why do you like paper plates?" "What do you like about school?" "What is your favorite color?""What is your favorite food?"  write down the answer, and tear off the page to give to you. There were many variations in handwriting and questions, but the children were consistent in the question that they were asking to each other and other people. I'm going to make sure that there are lots of pads of paper and pencils available!

Until next time,
Michele
