We have a shoe store in our classroom this week, and we have been learning so much just through our play! We have also been experiencing our five senses, and learning that they are all pathways to our brain.

What can you learn playing "shoe store"?
Math: money concepts, numbers identification, matching, comparing size, capacity (volume) with shoe boxes, and measuring skills.

Language Arts: writing skills, reading "open" and "closed", communications and role play, and if there's a Spanish teacher available, she can shop and use her Spanish words to find what she needs too!
Fine Motor: tracing shapes and shoes, cutting, writing skills, tying laces, and threading shoelaces. Our shoe shore has a repair component as well, and the children brush off the shoes and hammer them to fix them.
