Legends and Ceremonies

Our harvest feast is coming soon, and we had a week of preparations and the  classroom really felt like a community. We made shakers, and invitations for the feast.  We created jar lights for our table and had quiet candlelight lunches.  Everyone helped to bake pumpkin bread with chocolate chips and to deliver the invitations. The children tried painting with feathers  and painting with their hands. We had block play and outdoor play, and a special snack of popcorn! A favorite moment was our "ceremony", which included sharing a song, kind thoughts, and a story that we told together. "Can Man" came to visit to encourage us to donate to the food drive with a special invitation!
