Welcome Back!

‎" Do not try to satisfy your vanity by teaching a great many things. Awaken people's curiosity. It is enough to open minds, do not overload them. Put there just a spark. If there is some good inflammable  stuff, it will catch fire. "
- Anatole France

We welcomed the children back with "Pasta Week" which was a few days of sorting pasta, stringing pasta, gluing and glittering pasta, and a popular activity, PAINTING with spaghetti....which involves cooked spaghetti, paint, paper, and ready hands; reciting poems about spaghetti,
"I said, 'throw confetti', They must have misheard me, 'cause they all threw spaghetti!"
and reading books about pasta, like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.  A favorite book was a book about Minnie and Freddie, who loved spaghetti. The culminating activity was a pasta lunch with our 4/5 buddies, complete with salad and bread and ziti AND dessert. Coming back to a familiar and playful activity like pasta helps us to transition back to the activity and social whirl of the prek classroom!
Until Next Time,
