We Are the Dinosaurs!

Dinosaurs are a very exciting and engaging theme for preK children! We found dinosaurs in our bean table, collaged with dinosaurs, had blocks and dinosaurs at a building table, and made dinosaur tracks with paint and our plastic dinosaur friends. The children marched and marched to the dinosaur march song, and enjoyed many long moments with dinosaur books, both fictional and non-fictional. We wrote our own "dinosaur travel" books with a teacher, and each child told an original story about a dinosaur, and illustrated it.
School Picture Day generated a lot of play with chairs and posing and cameras, and I couldn't help but record the goings on. The children seemed to enjoy the actual picture taking in the library, there were lots of smiles and requests to "go again".
We had a mom visit, cooking apple crisp, and we cut open a pumpkin to count the seeds, and roasted both the seeds and the pumpkin to taste at snack time. Pumpkin is delicious, with just a little butter!
Until Next Time,
Michele
