Post Office week was a week of writing the alphabet, role play, and sending letters to eachother. The children enjoyed being communicators! We had visits from guest readers, including a very small cat that had a story written about its friend! The children painted "mail bags"to take home with an alphabet book inside. They followed all the steps that they needed to to post a letter to each other, including writing, folding, sealing in an envelope, and putting a stamp on their letter. We sang "Mail Myself to You" and read poems about mail and letters. Our snack was a "love letter", or yummy fruit folded into bread envelopes and toasted. We discovered length this week, with straws and a student teacher to connect them with us, and chain links to stretch all the way to the door with help from friends. We have a long "ruler" in our room that stretches along the floor, and we found out how long we are as well. What a good week!Until Next Time,
Michele
