We've begun our study of winter, and the snowflakes are falling! The children are exploring through song and story what happens in winter. We're wondering, what do animals do? Our new words are migrate, hibernate, and adapt. We're helping the birds by feeding them in a small feeder outside our window. The children notice the weather, and can tell us what they notice about the winter. Our paintings have become glittery, and the children are noticing snowflake shapes in everything. We made a polymer in our water table, that resembles snow in many ways except for the temperature! Our buddy Friday was a cooperative activity of taking apart and putting together a "mitten", which is hanging in the window. The children love to point out their piece of the puzzle!
Until Next Time,
Michele
