Snow! Winter! The children have embraced the weather with gusto. Our artwork reflects the colors of the season, and we've painted snowflake shapes, cut snowflakes out of paper, and painted on glass to make a circular monoprint snowball. Our songs are about animals in winter, as well as the weather and getting dressed for the snow. The block corner is getting a work out as the children learn to construct sturdy structures with the unit blocks, even sturdy enough to stand inside! Musical instruments remain available, and the children play "band". They have a conductor and make music together. When the conductor puts his/her hands down, you're supposed to stop! We made bird feeders (reduce, reuse, recycle) to bring to our homes, because we know that we can help the birds in the winter adapt to the different foods they have to find. Our pinata is decorated, and we'll enjoy it next week. We go outside whenever we can!
Until Next Time,
Michele
