Our First Few Colorful Days!

School has begun in earnest, and the children have quickly acclimated to the doings of the days. Many of us begin our day at the art table and have been creating some very colorful paintings, glueings, and drawings. The easel is open most days with different selections of paint, and the children spend quiet minutes filling up a large piece of paper. During choice time, the children move freely to other areas of the room, including dress up corner, block corner, and the science table which is covered with colors and rocks. There are other selections to work with at the tables, including pegs, puzzles, number cubes, and colored blocks and sorting toys. The water table has been open, with funnels, bottles, and colorful dishes. Our cooking days have created pretzels and most recently zucchini muffins. Yum!

The children watched a butterfly emerge from a chrysalis (!) and we set the butterfly free, after it spent time waving its wings and drying off. We sang a "welcome butterfly" song quietly while we waited.....

We have had long walks in the gardens, written our first book about a color walk, and enjoyed this glorious early fall weather.

"Guest readers" "Lunch helpers" have visited and added immensely to our days. Thank you for signing up and coming in!

Circle time and classroom responsibilities have worked themselves out. Your child may complain that they NEVER get a turn to be a line leader, but they will, we promise.

We have met all of our specials teachers, and the children seem to enjoy each space as they visit it. PE, music, Spanish, and even Library have been met with enthusiasm and wonderment!

"Words We've Heard"

"we have two jobs one is building the other one is saving people!"

"we are getting married!"

"we are friends and that's a fact and that's a deal!"

Until Next Time,
