As you can see, we had a full week of colors and sunshine! The children have begun to settle into the routines of the day, and are exploring all areas of the room. We painted with yellow, played with mixing colors, and opened up the easel this week. We sang songs about being a friend and wrote down our ideas all together. The children have some very good ideas for making friends, including "telling them your name" and "asking for a toy". "Rainbow" is an oft requested song, and the children's faces, voices, and sign language reflect a real joy of singing! We drew self portraits and wrote a little bit about ourselves for a display, you'll see it soon!

We have three student teachers in our room now. On Tuesdays, we'll be seeing Jasmine in the morning and Carly in the afternoon. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, we'll be seeing Javier. The students are from HVCC and very enthusiastic about spending time in our classroom.

The children's play is quite dramatic and imaginative, especially when there is room to "fly" outside. :o) You might be hearing some interesting stories.

WORDS WE'VE HEARD
"I'm making a hundred acre wood"
"I want to go to space" "For that you have to leave earth"
"We are mermaid fairies so we can swim way down and fly way up."
"We're not playing that. We're playing funny videos"(crashing children on playground)
"It's an alien with macaroni-cheese" (yellow painting)
