We're back! and the topic is birds. We made nests, and eggs, painted with feathers, added bird seed to our playdough, and had a special visiting grandma who shared her bird book and bird photos and even some real nests! We sang "Kookaburra" and "Five Little Chickadees" and read all sorts of books about birds, including Kevin Henkes
BIRDS and
Albert . The children used tongs to pick things up as a bird would, and we talked about what makes a bird a bird. We know a lot about birds! including the names of familiar birds in our neighborhood. We take a lot of pictures of block structures, as it is easier to put blocks away if you know that you'll always know how to build your structure again, via the picture, the next day.
Until Next Time,
Michele
