Caterpillars and Worms: Let's Investigate!

 We started our week with an investigation, with Leeanna, about earthworms! She had a bin of dirt and worms, and we dug right in. We were given the opportunity to  touch the earthworms if we were careful.  We found out a lot of interesting facts about earthworms!

Our science table now has a worm habitat, where we can watch the worms' progress through the dirt and sand in a jar, AND a caterpillar that is ready to form a chrysalis- a painted lady. 

 Leeanna read us a wonderful story about Otto and Bob, a caterpillar and worm, that form a friendship despite their differences and ways of being.

 We have continued to read our "original stories" complete with comments at the end of each reading.....

And there have been many opportunities to head outside and investigate the insect world!

I Wonder if I've Grown?

This week we explored how much we've grown! We measured ourselves and added to our original measurements from September. We drew self portraits, and finished our original stories and our structure stories. We had a lovely walk outside listening, looking, and observing the wonderful change in the weather!

We had a visitor on Thursday, a music teacher from a private school in Massachusetts. She spent time with us and sang with us. We loved having a sing a long with the 3's and Mary!
