Legends and Story Telling

We explored legends this week, including stories about where strawberries come from and how chipmunk got his stripes. The children tried passing a "talking stick" which, when held onto, gives the child a turn to speak.  We made dream catchers and shakers, and painted with pine branches. Our pumpkin bread has been baked thanks to the many bakers in our classroom!
We ended our week with a candlelight ceremony to celebrate our friendship!

Fall Colors and Gifts from the Earth

The children have coalesced into an active and social group of children that choose to be together. It's unusual for us to hear "I need some space!"

 It's become typical, instead, for children to work together to fill a bag of beans,

or create a store......

or create the scene from "Where the Wild Things Are."

 There are hands together group cheers,

collaboration in playing a simple harvest game,

and a group effort to create a dessert buffet.

 Letters and pictures are written for others,

and even books are written to share!

We don't worry about a lot of children climbing together...we know that they will make room for eachother!
